I have a pink grapefruit tree I planted about 6 years ago and it is the same size as when I planted it! I planted orange and a tangelo tree in the backyard at the same time in the yard and they have all grown and produced fruit every year. I noticed that other trees I planted on the other side of the fence from the area where I planted the grape fruit tree also struggled. The house was a new build and I wonder if this area is where they dumped excess paint chemicals etc. during the build. I am wondering if anyone knows a good source to test soil to see if there is something missing in that soil makeup? |

Grapefruits are usually much more vigorous than other citrus. I'd doubt its some kind of chemical contamination problem. More likely a watering problem. For example, is the grapefruit planted where it gets too much water, like in the grass? |

Thanks for the quick reply. The tree is not in the lawn but it is in the low spot of the yard where water does accumulate after watering the lawn. This might explain why the two trees closest to the low spot in the yard are not growing as fast as the others which are on the high side. I can reduce the bubbler on the tree to reduce the water. |

Maybe you should use some products for extra nutrition or growth? Maybe they'll help? Or the soil is not appropriate one for grapefruits, this can happen as well. _________________ Crossword Maker |
