Thats the one they make for perfume , or oil? I talked to a guy in chandler that grows it in a very shelterd spot, (right next to his house in a doorstep side garden, with a skylight type opening) I think you can grow it here with a little research on soil. I bet you'll never get it to be a big tree but a big bush, it still be worth it to get those flowers.

Its worth a try, I thing if these people can grow avocados here anything is possible. Good luck Laughing

Thanks saul4paz.
Yes, that is the one. I have a steam distilled extract that smells great. I'm all about fragrant flowers. I will have to give it a try.
Thanks again
Tom Very Happy

I grow Champaca, which is similar. 7-8 foot trees. Blooms throughout spring and fall

Datropicalman- I was wondering about that one. From the description of it being the source of "Joy" perfume, I think I should give it try. Does it have any particular requirements?

Eastern or northern exsposure only. Filtered sun till noon or a couple hours of morning sun. Good drainage. I dug my holes 3 foot deep. Lots of organics. Twice a week water in summer, every week and a half in spring and fall. Up against house is good for frost protection. I like them so much I have extras in pots just waiting for space. You can smell 1 flower from 20 feet away, 15 flowers will reach the front yard.
