I read online that if you cut the terminal bud on a mango it would encourage the tree to branch, is this true? Right now I have 2 Manila mangos, one about 5' and the other about 3' Im curious to know if anyone has tried this

oh ABSOLUTELY Mariolo!!!!!!!
I terminally bud pinch the second I get a new tree...so ideally the terminal branch becomes 3-4 side shoots...then after growing out, each of those gets pinched, then I have 9-12 shoots, then another pinching and that becomes 20-25 shoots....and then I stop. Once I get a nice scaffold started then I just let them go..
at least that's been my experience to date - curious to hear what others might do...

OK...but why waste a whole branch? Just the BUD at the end is what I nipped and was talking about, and then again each time it grew out a branch, that little swelling at the end......oh well...I'm sure it'll be just fine....

I don't trim mine like that. I let the frost kill the terminal branch.. ha ha. That will work with just about any tree. However, some trees are stubborn and the new buds near the top will grow straight up and you'll just get a dog leg in your trunk.

When my seedling mangoes start to look chlorotic (new leaves look yellow), I use Greenlight Iron and Soil Acidifier, a source of chelated iron, around the base of the plant. I also have a grafted mango and the soil applied source of iron does not seem to help it, like it does for the seedlings, so I use a foliar fertilizer on it called Liquinox Iron and Zinc. Pouring Liquinox over the leaves has helped this plant substantially. It is important that a foliar fertilizer does not have any sulfur in it, because sulfur will burn a plant's leaves. Also helpful with chlorosis are occasional light applications of manganese sulfate.
Also, I definitely would not use miracle grow on your mango in any way.
