Returned my initial gold nugget after I found this bad boy.. so 20 bucks for this tree is the deal of the century IMO
check out the trunk size, not typical of the other lowes grafted trees.. its got like 6 or 7 growth flushes so i saw it and immediately knew I needed to purchase it lol
I did notice when I repotted that the taproot was wound around the bottom edge of the pot.. i tried to pry it out gently as much as I could but it wound back up inside the center of the rootball so I just pulled it as much as I could without ripping or cutting any roots since these guys dont like when the roots are messed with.
the only con is that it looks crooked if its not tied to the wooden stake.. maybe because its so top heavy right now that it wants to arch to one side? should I keep it tied up for this year til the trunk hardens up a bit?

This is way nicer than my Gold Nugget. Mine is pretty small. I'm wondering if they don't let the Garden Managers take their pick of the trees and by the time it gets to the East Valley, just the small stuff is left |
