I put 2 Pomegranates in last year, wonderful plants for our desert clime, extremely drought- and fully sun-tolerant. One is larger than the other, but the other gets a lot more sun, so it's a bit ahead of the larger plant at this point. I have a feeling the larger one is going to put on a breathtaking show in about a week or so when its 100+ buds all open. The smaller plant has less than 10 buds, one of which opened yesterday. These are good-sized flowers.

I know what you mean, I'm not sure I'll ever eat one, but it's a pretty spectacular ornamental as well. And though they're deciduous, mine both started leafing out in Feb!

I know what you mean about all of the work but I've grown to really like the fruit so it's worth it.

I planted 3 last fall. One has soft seeds so maybe I can just eat seeds and think of them as fiber.

If nothing else, maybe you can sell them since in the stores they go for $1.50 to $2.99 each.

Or, juice them.

Hopefully, mine have even half of the blooms that yours has.

Neither of my Poms are more than 3' tall, but the one I describe as larger had been pruned significantly before I bought it, and has twice of trunk of the other. I'll guess it's about a full season ahead of the one bearing the flower posted above. I don't plan to prune either substantially, preferring bushes to trees. They had both better bulk up in a hurry if they hope to hold fruit all season. The plant with all the buds is putting them out in large clusters of 5-8. I'm not sure these little branches could manage one fruit, let alone eight. It will be fun to watch!
