I'm trying to grow a loquat tree in a large pot (approx. 2.5' x 3.5'). Will this work? I've heard that a potted loquat tree will not produce fruit. Is this true? _________________ Plus je connais les hommes, plus j’aime les chiens. |

Yes, I haven't tried it, but I have heard and read that loquats do well in large containers. Below is a reference from the rare fruit growers that also verifies this. I have even seen loquats fruiting in the small pots that they are sold in.
"In a large tub the loquat makes a good container specimen."

I think you would need to water a loquat in a container more frequently than in the ground because it would probably dry out faster. Also, you might want to move it to a shady spot in summer. |

| Not true. I have loquats in containers that just got done fruiting. |
