Awesome picts.
Not many palms grown in AZ retain the appearance of those grown in Florida. The Florida grown queen palms we get here are a perfect example. They arrive dark green with full fronds and then typically devolve into stubs. The picts show that the Mule is an exception. I'd say my desert grown examples look very much like those shown in the Florida picts.
Why this palm isn't available from Phoenix area nurseries is a mystery to me. With such a limited variety of hardy palms suitable for our environment a beautiful and hardy palm like the Mule should be widely promoted here. Even casual homeowners could chunk one of these in a hole, underwater it, and still have reasonable hope for success.
Maybe it needs a new catchy name, I'd suggest the Princess palm.

I am sure you will see some in your area soon. The princess palm is a good name unfortunatley this name has stuck.

Ok last one for now. A bit burried but there is a Pauriotus on the bottom left and a triangle in the middle.

I just returned from Maui and fell in love with the Christmas palms (Adonidia merrillii). Is anyone growing them here? I understand they might not be cold hardy enough for our climate. I live in the city of Maricopa.

That is a good looking palm. I did not find a ton of info on it but you can assume it will not handle freezes well at all. If I were to try to attempt to keep this palm I would pot it in a big pot and have it on the patio April thru October them move it insidein the winter. Or you could sink the pot into the ground out in the yard in an area that only gets morning sun. Then when its starting to get cold pull the pot up out of the ground and bring it inside. This site http://www.floridata.com/ref/v/veit_mer.cfm says it looks similar to the larger royal palm which is reasonably hardy for a tropical palm. They can take a lot of sun and can handle a few degrees below freezing. There are a few 15-25 foot ones around town. Being in Maricopa you will be even colder than Phoenix which does not help I would just vote going the large pot route. If you try it share the info with us!

The Christmas palm is not suitable due to it's complete lack of cold tolerance. If you're looking for a palm with a crown shaft like the Adonidia that has a chance here, try a Cuban Royal palm. You'll have some setbacks but in a sweet spot (overhead winter canopy) success too. Also, we have a fairly large King palm Archontophoenix cunninghamiana growing in an outside patio protected pot. It is a Home Depot landscape palm in S. California but rare in Arizona. Has a look similar to the Adonidia.
