Just checking in with everyone to see if last night and the night
before yielded some temperatures close to freezing.

Here in Palm Springs, we, or at least I, was at 32 the first night and last night it might have gotten to 31 as there was frost on a couple lawns I saw. I covered all the mangoes and papayas with frost cloth and that seemed to do the trick, at least they appear unscathed....

How did you guys make out?

Didn't know if any of you Phoenecians are growing the Choc Anon (Miracle) Mango but for the last 3 years it has consistently flowered around this time, a good 4 months after everything else, and for the first time it's holding some fruitlets. It has the reputation for multiple crops in tropical climates, and seems to want to show off what it can do at this off season time for us.

Karen - I'm in Palm Springs and I'm still trying to figure out my Choc Anon.
It seems to start flowering in July and continued to do it right through October with no fruit set. Looks like it is resting now. I don't know what's going on with this mango. All my other ones start flowering in March.

I mean I wish I could get some fruit set because it seems like it would stretch out the season, but I just am so confused about this variety. Giving it another year then It'll just have to get the yank or some top-work grafting.......

Good luck.....
