I've always thought that worm castings were more potent than compost. Worm castings are easier to make than compost because all you have to do is get set up with red wriggler worms and you never have to turn any bins. They also aren't picky about N:C ratios and such. Certain bacteria live in the hot compost, while others live in the worms' digestive tract.

I've had trouble with my red wigglers surviving our heat...where do you keep yours, darkcoolboo?
