Hello. I am an avid fan of the passion fruit vine and I live in Tucson. I, unfortunately, have not seen any blooms on mine but I suppose that could be due to my golden variety.
I'm looking for Passion Fruit Vine 'Frederick'. I'm willing to pay to have an actual plant or cutting shipped to me. Any help?
Thanks, Michael |

I had a Frederick for years and every spring I would get lots of flowers and fruit. Mine died several years ago. They are short lived vines, averaging about 7 years I have read. You can find them sometimes at HD here in the Phoenix area, but they might be harder to find in Tucson. Also, they can freeze if temps get much below freezing (mid 20's I think) so they'll be harder to grow in Tucson as well.
I tried the yellow passionfruit in my yard and had the same experience. They never bloomed. I think the climate here his not tropical enough for them.
You might want to give this HD in Mesa a call to see if they have them in stock now. I have seen there many times. They will also order them for you. See if you can talk to Ken in that case.
