Hey - I'm reopening this topic to see if anyone has successfully grown and fruited a Macadamia Nut in the desert. I've got a tree maybe 7 years old now, growing nicely, but suffering from some salt (water most likely) burn and it has yet to flower or fruit.....here's a pic from a year ago...it looks the same just bigger----it's maybe 10 ft. tall now:

There is one in the AZRFG demo garden in Phoenix. I'm not aware of that one ever fruiting either.

Thanks PT - how large is it, do you know?

Well, I'll just let it grow, it's kind of tucked under a tall 6 tree grove
of palms and it now shades some shade loving plants so it does have
a purpose.....who knows, with luck someday something may
happen!

Wow awesome work with gardening and the tree is pretty good. You put a lot effort in growing this man up. Good luck with that.

The macadamia at the demo garden is reported to be around 12 years old from seed.
