Anyone currently growing a 97-1 Atemoya or any Atemoya here in phx?
I need to know the history of the 97-1 variety . Is it a hybrid or something? Does it have an actual name?
Anyone also growing a Kent mango?
Supposedly it's a vigorous tree, i need all the growth i can get here in phx!
All responses are appreciated. These trees will be in filtered sun NE side of my house under my Acacia tree. Also what should i feed these and when?
Thanks.

Mangoes do well in full sun, so I wouldn't recommend putting it under another tree. Also, the mango has very different water requirements than an acacia. So, if a mango is placed very close to an acacia, either the mango would end up not getting enough water or the acacia too much water.

I found this on the web regarding your Atemoya:
Atemoya (grafted var. 97-1), Hybrid Custard Apple.
Sweet flavor, similar to cherimoya, cream colored flesh. Very productive hybrid originated in Pine Island, Florida

I also wouldn't put an Atemoya underneath an acacia but it might do well on the east side of a larger tree because it would get afternoon shade.

This web site has pages on both mangoes and atemoya:

Good luck. Very Happy
