A swarm of bees decided to set up shop in the eave of my house. We saw some going in and out of a hole there about a week ago, but they then went away. Well, apparently that was the vanguard because today a gazillion of them decided to move in.

I called a bee removal company and they are currently in the process of getting rid of them. I would have liked to let them be, but they are in the entry way to my house and of course Africanized. People in the know say that once they get settled in they even get more aggressive because they have nymphs and honey to defend.

Unfortunately they are having to poison them because of the tight spot they have established themselves in. I was hoping they could "relocate" them but no such luck in this case.

Are they confirmed africanized? I thought that couldn't be determined until they were dead or something?

The bee removal guy seemed to think so, but I think he's just assuming they are because most of them in this area are. He didn't really inspect them closely, and even then I think you need to be an entomologist to really know.

However, they were fairly docile bees so I'm thinking they weren't Africanized. I got close to them over and over again and they never really went after me. I mean I got stupidly close one time trying to throw a cluster of them on a branch in a paper bag.
