Has anyone had success growing Strawberry guavas (Psidium cattleianum) in Arizona? Our local Lowes has some nice specimens for sale and I am wondering if they are worth trying here. Given our similar hot summer climates, the limiting factor in their cultivation here, it would be great to know your experiences.
Thank you,

I have found that they don't do too well. They don't like the heat and even when you get fruit it ends up being really sour. Tropical guavas do better even though they are more frost sensitive. |

I have a 5 foot strawberry guava on the North side of the house against a wall. Nice glossy leaves, but has never given me fruit. I've had it for four years. |
