I obtained some seeds for this last Dec and planted them in pots this April and now the plants are 4 ft tall. Has anyone here grown it and how does it over winter in Phoenix? One place says it can't take frost but will grow back from the roots.

I have had one in the ground for 2 years now. Mine did fine with light frost but got knocked back to the ground by the hard freeze 2 years ago. It did sprout right back. They grow amazingly fast. Mine put on about 8 feet this spring & summer. I have a ton of seed off mine this year I can mail to anyone wanting them.

Pinched off the flower buds to see how tall the tree would get in a summer almost 12 feet! |

How is this tree doing? Is it worth growing? How are the beans? Since this tree has been growing a couple of years, how big is it now?
I have a couple of baby trees in a pot and before I transplant them, I was just wondering if it was worth growing.

The first year they were frozen to the ground but to my surprise they grew back. The beans right now are woody and not edible but last fall if they were picked before getting to a pencil size they cook up nice and are like a green been. The size is about 12 feet but other say there get to 30 feet. It's a very soft tree and is easily cut down.
