It was tempting but I already have 3 mango trees and covering them plus all my other tender plants when it threatens to freeze has me pretty much maxed out. I have been planting more deciduous stuff lately for that reason. I still highly recommend the tropical fruit trees but one just has be realistic about how many can be supported.

No idea on the rootstock. I'm not aware that rootstock makes much difference with mangoes, but I could be wrong.

I've heard the turpentine is a good rootstock
and used in Florida a lot. Here, I think they use
Manila, sometimes, as rootstock....

That would be good is they use Manila, then you could let some of the root stock branches grow and have two nice varieties.

My large Manila tree has delicious mangos, but my smaller one - the taste just seems not there AND there is lots of fiber in those.....just wondering how much variation these seedlings have - would love to compare fruit from 3 or 4 trees someday......
