Did my annual spring visit to the Royal Palms Hotel a few days ago. If you have not been there its well worth it. Not too much rare fruit but just amazing grounds. 15-20' tall plumerias, lots of rare palms, just amazing landscaping. Here is their large mango tree recovering well after the hard winter. I assume it was unprotected.

Yah, those guys seem to be in a very warm location, located on the south facing slope of Camelback Mountain. I do think they put their propane heaters next to their most tender stuff though when it gets really cold. They have had some plumerias in the ground for years and the largest I saw were tucked under the edge of an outdoor restaurant in a planter. Plumerias are really super tender, much more so than mangoes.

I didn't see mangoes there last time I went but that was probably like 5 years ago. It's good to see they are diversifying their fauna.

...also, tucking them under that grouping of palm trees is
a smart frost protection device that I've used...but don't you
think, PT, this is probably a Manila purchased at the locas Home
Depot....or it could be a seed someone planted, but that's a hell of
a lot of growth for a 5 years old tree......

Yes the flowers looked as though they had bloomed a few day earlier. The were a bunch of pea size green fruits.
