I was at Home Depot today and they have some Plumeria trees that look to be about 5 to 6 feet tall. They have leaves, but no flowers. I'm assuming since they are that big, I would need to plant them in the ground. Is that correct?
If so, where would be the best place to plant them? Our house gets East to West sun all day long. The front of our house faces North and has a little bit of shade. The back of our house gets full sun for the majority of the day. I'm thinking the best place for it would be the front.
I'd really like to have a plumeria but would hate to waste my money if it's not going to flourish. I'm also thinking that maybe it's better to start out with a smaller tree so it has time to get used to our climate as opposed to getting one of the bigger ones I saw at Home Depot? Does that matter?
THANK YOU! |

I would put it in a nice large Pot in your front yard to show-case it. Plumeria’s are funny, they can flower small or take there time and flower when there older.
If you getting them big like that your chances are higher that they will flower more. The Plumeria Obtus. like half sun because there leaves are thick and they can burn. The Plumeria Alba. can take more sun (there leaves are pointy and thinner. check the descriptions when you buy them
Use Cactus Palm Mix, and make sure it drains well. It will be more then worth it when you get those flowers. you can also use, bloom booster (miracle grow) to help them flower too _________________ Edible House |
