Thanks again to those members of AZRFG that ran the plant sale this morning.

Picked up a Mexican Cream guava, a few unusal pomegranate varieties, and a Manila mango seedling. Saw a lot of people walk off with 8 to 12 plants each!

Looking forward to the next one.

I was there around 11:30-12:00, and there wasn't much left...some small Surinam cherry, one small white guava, tons of pomegranates and smaller citrus.. And some dragon fruit cuttings.

I didn't make it this time but I went to the last one and was there by 10:30 and everything was picked over. So, for the next one, I need to get there when it opens.

Congratulations on the new plants.

I'm glad to hear it went well. I was out of town this weekend so I couldn't make it.

one member (who i think brought the mulberries for tasting) hes got a short name like phil, or ned, or somethin like that, i forgot.

but anyway

there was one plant he brought that was just a cutting with a little nub of growth starting to emerge in a pot with gaumichil written on it but the white tag inside the plant said monstera.. i didn know what it was and couldnt find him at the time to ask.

i went home and looked up monstera deliciosa and the plant looks very intriguing! the fruit looks pretty crazy, and requires atleast 12 months to ripen!

they say it has the flavor of like mango/banana/pineapple/jackfruit

now i think i want one

It does look interesting but I'd have to get a greenhouse before I would tackle it. It doesn't like to be below 50 degrees.

As I was writing this I heard some birds chattering and went to check it out. It was about a 4 foot long Gopher snake on my patio. I've seen several various kinds of snakes around my neighborhood already. Some years I don't see any. Luckily there haven't been any rattlesnakes.

The mulberries typically come from Monty or Doug. Yah, the monstera seems to be very tropical, but then again, so do philodendrons and I've seen them doing quite well here in full shade.

I'd guess they are related, but they are different plants.
