|
|
Out of two plants, the one in full sun looks like it's burning up pretty bad, copper discoloration on leaves, as well as some crinkling up totally dry and crisp.
Sunburn or could it be soil? I ripped out a old Rosemary to plant the Surinam, so obviously tons of old Rosemary needles are scattered through the soil, can the Rosemary oil have any detrimental effect on plants?
I dug it up and have it in. 3.5gal nursery pot for now. I id otce the soil was on the dry side, still moist but probably could have been more watered had it been a mango or banana.. I thought surinam a were drought tolerant, but maybe since it's newly planted? |

Did you fertilize it? Some plants can't handle any fertilizer at all in our soil. |

Both of my Surinam Cherry bushes are in full sun but have some west side protection until they get bushy enough. Then I'll test to see how they do w/o the protection. I water them 2X a week right now. One time is with drip and 1X with flooding the well with the hose. |

it seems like its doing better potted on the east side of my house, leaves are still burned from being in ground but they have perked up a bit, the remaining in ground surinam is also on east side with no signs of burn at all.. so im thinking its the full sun.. the spot i had it had no protection at all.
and i havent fertilized either of them |
