It been a few months and haven’t turned the compost pile so it was time to get after it. So when starting to dig in some really good looking dirt appears it looks like worm casting but there isn’t any worms upon further inspection there are large fats grubs at first thinking they were some kind of bad grub they were feed to the birds but when finding many more it turned out that they were the Green Fruit Beetle Larva which are great for composting. After sifting the pile there is 15 gallons of worm casting or grub casting so finding the Green Fruit Beetle Larva in my compost bin was a good thing they made some great compost. The fifty grubs still alive were returned to the new compost pile to do their work. The birds were really happy also! |

thousands of grubs in my compost pile and don't
know where the worms went that I put in there.....
